For over 28 years, Rivka’s Judaica Store has been serving the needs of the Jewish community in Connecticut. Originally The Israel Gift Shop, it was purchased by a Hebrew teacher Rivka Dvorin in 1988, who changed the name and moved it to a larger, more centralized location.
“At all times, my father was encouraging me, ‘You are a business-woman, you are much more than a teacher.’” Rivka told The Jewish Ledger in 2013. “I was very happy being a teacher…but it was the right time, the right place. Everything fell into place the right way.”
Over the last quarter-century, The Judaica Store has seen many changes in the Jewish communities tastes and needs and has thrived because of its ability to address the current trends.
